Vocabulary

1.【これ/それ/あれ】は（　　）です。

This lady says

 

これは　スマホ です。📢

 

This  is  a smartphone.  

 

 

You know これ, それ and あれ. This lady has a smartphone with her hand. In such a case, you use これ.

Let’s see the examples of それ  and あれ.

 

それは　とけいです。📢　It is a watch.

 

あれは　パソコンです。📢　That is a PC.

 

 

In conversation, you say below.

ex.1) Q：それは　カメラですか。📢

　   A：はい、カメラです。📢

 

ex.2) Q：それは　カメラですか。📢

      A：いいえ、カメラじゃありません。📢

 

When you answer, you don’t have to say これは/それは/あれは.

2.（これ/それ/あれ）は【owner】の〈thing(s)〉です。

In lesson 1, we have studied particle の.

Here we will study other 3 kinds of  の.  They have different meanings.

                               owner

 

               It  is Tom‘s   mouse.

 

 

This  の  is used to indicate the owner.

 

You can also say

 

これは　私の　じしょです。📢 

 

    This is my  dictionary.

 

 

In conversation, you say below.

ex.1) Q：あれは　Chinさんの　ノートですか。📢

　    A：はい、Chinさんの　ノートです。📢

 

ex.2) Q：あれは　Chinさんの　ノートですか。📢

     A：いいえ、Chinさんの　ノートじゃありません。📢

 

 

Be careful when you are asked about your belongings. 

ex.3) Linh：あれは　おのさんの　本ほんですか。📢

 　  おの：はい、私の　本です。📢

 

 

» Let’s look around you and say about things there.  In case you mention the belongings of other people, do not forget to attach さん to the name.

In case  you say about a product, you say below.

You can mention the company’s name below.

4.（これ/それ/あれ）は【content】の〈media〉です。

This の  has some usages.  Let’s see some examples.

This sentence pattern is used for site and app, too.

That is a site about/of game.

　                             

 

これは　日本語の　本です  usually has 2 meanings.

1 This is a book written in Japanese.

2 This is a book for Japanese language studying.

In Japanese, “hundred” has 3 kinds of reading.  Be careful with 300, 600 and 800.

With “thousand”, 3000 is still special and is read さんぜん.  6000 is normal but 8000 is read はっせん.

Be careful you don’t say “いちひゃく”, “いちせん”.
